Andrew Tellep lives in Mar Lin, PA. He graduated from Penn State in 1974 in Secondary Education. He received his Master of Education degree from Kutztown University in 1980 and his Master of Science in Computer Science from Shippensburg University in 1986.

He worked as a full-time faculty member at Penn State’s Schuylkill Campus, teaching mathematics and computer science, from 1981 to 2008.

During those 27 years, while teaching full-time and making conference presentations, much of his time was spent as a faculty leader and in service to the University. That service included but was not limited to: 3 terms as Chair of the Schuylkill Campus Faculty Senate, 1 term as Chair of the Capital College Faculty Senate, 3 terms representing the Schuylkill Campus in the University Faculty Senate at University Park, 1 term each on the Faculty Senate Committees on Student Affairs, Faculty Benefits, and Undergraduate Education, a member of the Legislative Advocacy Network to encourage state support for Penn State, and Schuylkill Campus coordinator of Project Empower to assist faculty with the use of technology. He is currently a member of the Schuylkill “For the Future” Committee.

Andrew’s wife, Dr. Michele M. Tellep, works in the College of Education. His son is at University Park in architectural engineering and is a member of the Blue Band. His family sponsors the Palko-Tellep Scholarship at Penn State.

He is a board member of the Pottsville Area Music Endowment to help provide music education to Pottsville Area youth.
